Due to the terrifying hostage-taking happened last August 23 this year at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila. Police were blamed over the substandard rescue attempt to at least twenty one (21) Hong Kong tourists inside the tourist bus.

People from Hong Kong were so disappointed on what had happened and they even expressed their distress through facebook discussion forums.

“I feel so sorry for the Hong Kong hostages who have been killed in Manila Philippines!!! But I just couldn’t understand what the hell Philippine police doing during 10 the hours ??? 10 hours negotiation and guard end up with 8 death and 2 serious injured??? How stupid is that ???” This was one of the heartrending messages posted on the said forum.

September 5, General Jesus Verzosa, the National Police chief Director of the Philippines decided to retire fifteenth this month but indirectly assumed that his reason has no related to the dreadful end result of the Hong Kong tourist bus hostage-taking catastrophe.

“My decision to render an early retirement has been announced more than a month ago. More than ever, it is imperative to take responsibility especially with regards to what has transpired in the past week,” General Jesus Verzosa said during the interview.

“It is now time to move forward and start anew. Rest assured that the national police will continue its sworn duty to serve and protect as well as tender credible, effective and reliable service to the public,” added by Verzosa.

However, board has revealed that during the hostage-taking catastrophe, there was no psychologist who supposed to help assess Rolando Mendoza, the hostage-taker. The latter’s brother, Gregorio Mendoza, said that he was trying to convince his bother to free the hostages, yet, he was found to have a pistol when he approaches the bus with hostages inside.

Gregorio Mendoza insisted that the impressions were only falsehood to let him answer the crime which his brother was the one to blame.
