Semana Santa is one of the awaited celebrations of the year especially for Catholics. This is the time where one can contemplate about the sacrifices that Jesus had done for the sins of the world, the moment to remember how He died to save us.

When Semana Santa comes the world turns into a sudden silence some doing their devotion for holiness while others is silent doing their own funny thing.

1. Since meat is not allowed during Semana Santa then this is the chance to eat all you can find inside the food depot. Biscuits, chocolates, cakes, ice cream, lettuce in a salad, deserts. It’s a time of sacrifice not to eat meat yet it is a sumptuous feast to devour other food. Isn’t it nice? Eat all you can!
2. Semana Santa is a holy time for everyone, naughty kids are in action and it is a time for a mother not to reprimand their kids. (AAA.AAHH). don’t say bad words mom, it’s holy week.
3. Semana Santa is a moment of silence and tranquility. Silence because almost everyone is sleeping. (SShhh). Don’t disturb! Don’t make noises!Hush.hush. Everyone is in their moments of silence.
4. A free movie house. No payment for the ticket. Whew! Everyone can enjoy a movie marathon. Sky is the limit!
5. Mom will cook special dishes for the holy week. Lent cake, anchovy cakes, ricotta pie is served on the table. Holy week is also a paradise of food. Forget the diet or miss the cakes? How you wish everyday is holy week.

Semana Santa is a time of sacredness yet there are inappropriate things we do intentionally or unintentionally. It is called the irony in life. The funniest characteristics of human beings: complexity.

You do things according to what your heart thinks and what your brain can feel. Could it be possible that the heart and the brain can unite even just once? Come on! It’s holy week mom! Just say yes!
